Fiddler FAQs

Can I buy my "Fiddler" tickets at the door?
Yes, absolutely -- unless the show sells out. Check the Haldane Arts Alliance Facebook page during the week before the show. We try to post alerts if a show is sold-out, or nearly sold-out.

Is "Fiddler" suitable for younger children?
Online resources differ on whether this is a "G" or "PG" musical. Common Sense Media suggests the story is suitable for ages 10+, and you can read mini-reviews by kids on the organization's website here. You can review a synopsis here. For a deep dive into the musical, check out this study guide.

Haldane Arts Alliance supports Haldane Drama all year long!
Haldane's drama program is renowned for nurturing young talent, inspiring audiences, showcasing creativity, and creating community.

In elementary school, students enjoy an exciting introduction to basic acting tools and theater vocabulary that culminates in our annual spring
musical, directed by Dan McGroarty. The middle school play introduces more advanced skills to students in Grades 6-8; the annual spring play is directed by Andrea McCue and Jenna Isabella.

High school productions in the fall and spring are directed by
Martha Mechalakos. Auditions are competitive, productions are of the highest standard, and the rehearsal process often includes workshops with professional artists who work on and Off-Broadway -- including many who live in our own community. Haldane's high school productions are on par with top performing arts schools in the region, and our talent pool is so deep that plays and musicals are often double-cast! Haldane middle and high school students also have the opportunity to train and volunteer as tech crew -- backstage and in the booth -- under the direction of parent volunteer Damian McDonald. Finally, a truly dedicated corps of parent and community volunteers support every production at Haldane, and those volunteers include many of our very own Arts Allies!

To learn more about Haldane Drama productions, visit the school district's website and follow Haldane Drama on facebook!
