Haldane Student WORK
Haldane Arts Alliance loves to showcase student work! On this page you'll find highlights from classes, performances, events, initiatives and exhibitions. Not all of the work on view here is coordinated by HAA -- this page is designed to show the breadth of work and arts experiences that can happen at a small school when the arts are valued, supported, and promoted for ALL students.
If you'd like to submit images or video to include in our virtual showcase, contact us!

ARTWORK AT FOODTOWN
There's NEW artwork up at Foodtown this fall!
Here’s a note from HS art teacher Katie Boonshoft: “As an introduction to color, Studio in Art students studied how artists use the color wheel as a tool when selecting color schemes for their work, as well as how color can affect the mood and meaning of a work of art... they used the color wheel and their new knowledge of color theory to try out a variety of color schemes within the composition.”

Grade 5 Arts Alive (Spring 2022)
Heartfelt thanks go out to this year’s guest artists for HAA’s annual Grade Five Arts Alive event! These wonderful volunteers shared their passion (and expertise) for their craft with students last Friday in individual art workshops. We’d especially like to thank those repeat artists who’ve volunteered for this special day before – some for many, many years (Katie Bissinger has participated annually since inception!). Check out the amazing array of workshops Haldane 5th graders got to choose from this year. And shout out to Jenny Carpenter, HAA Board Member, along with Haldane ES staff and Principal Jamin for organizing the event!

Haldane MS: Digital Music Studio (2019-20)
Click the image below to visit Haldane's Digital Music Studio, where 7th- and 8th-grade students had the opportunity to express their creativity through virtual and acoustic instruments, while looking out at the beautiful Hudson River! Students explored fundamental piano skills, introduction to music theory, and recording basics. They dived into many different genres of music, and each unit culminated with a final open-ended and composition-based project. Teacher Dan McGroarty notes that this was our school's very first digital music website showcasing student work. Enjoy!

Gallery: HAA OPEN Call for WORK by HS StudentS (spring 2020)
This spring, Haldane Arts Alliance invited Haldane high school students to submit artwork to be featured at HAA's Foodtown Gallery. The pandemic and closure of school buildings during NYS on PAUSE disrupted our plans for this exhibition, due in part to space and time restrictions at Foodtown and at Haldane.
We look forward to the time when HAA will once again be able to install student art exhibitions at Foodtown. In the meantime, we offer this virtual gallery of works submitted by high school students. HAA is grateful to these students for sharing their art with HAA and the community.
